The AgPreparedness Center's mission is to provide awareness and response training to thousands of America's first responders.
The Homeland Security-approved course, "Avian Influenza Response," offers comprehensive information regarding the risk, nature, and appropriate response to a foreign animal disease outbreak among poultry.
Participants will be provided with an overall perspective of:
- The importance and the need for responder assistance during an avian influenza outbreak.
- Responder roles during a foreign animal disease incident.
- The impact of an outbreak to our nation's poultry industry and economy.
The training will provide current best practices and safety issues in the areas of:
- Biosecurity
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Euthanasia and disposal of animal
- Cleaning and disinfection operations
All training is compliant with National Incident Management System guidelines.
